I was in Turin some years ago but I missed this iconic building of this city. Three shots I took from different angles this time. We could have gone to the top to see the view if we liked but there was a long queue and we thought better not in order not to waste time.
As you can see, the fog had cleared by the time we arrived in downtown Turin and we took a deep breath of relief for the evening’s football match.
The Mole, as it is more commonly known, is a major landmark building in Turin, Italy, named after its architect, Alessandro Antonelli. A mole in Italian is a building of monumental proportions.
It was constructed between and 1889. Originally conceived of as a synagogue, it now houses the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and is the tallest museum in the world. A representation of the building is featured on the obverse of the Italian 2 cent euro coin.
