This is a tribute to my friend Richard - richard saffold / chard – who passed away on 18th January (I came to know about it only yesterday). I had a feeling something was amiss because I had not seen him for some days on 365 and he never missed his daily posting. I have been friends with Richard from the very beginning of my project a full six years ago. I have never met Richard personally but I will remember him as a very nice uncomplicated person who was in love with nature, with his cats and above all his camera.
I did not take this shot; I borrowed it from Richard’s own project of 31st December, 2016, I think he would love to see something like this with his name on it somewhere in the countryside that he loved. Rest in peace, my friend.
I felt I had to interrupt my project to say good-bye to Richard.
Thank you very much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
Roadside memorials area always sad and a tribute to the person that has passed away. I hope you get the opportunity to make a special place that has significance to you in Richards memory.
365 is such a wonderful place to make friends all over the world. Sad to hear of the loss of your friend Richard. You will have some great pictures to remember him by I am sure.
It's sad when we lose a 365 friend because the photography really brings us together in so many ways. I think you have paid him a really nice tribute and am sorry for your loss. I remember seeing his name and pictures here.
Your tribute is very special and brings him to life for all of us on 365. What a wonderful way to recognize his contribution to his and our photo lives.
