Now I know why the Juventus Football Stadium used to be called ‘Stadio delle Alpi’ meaning ‘Stadium of the Alps’. Turin is barely one hour’s drive from the foot of Mont Blanc in the Alps.
The stadium belonged to the city of Turin and was shared by two of the big guns of Italian football – Juventus and Torino – until 2006. Juventus acquired the stadium had it demolished and built a new stadium called the Juventus Stadium . The new stadium was opened in 2011.
And this is the end of my story. The drive to Milan airport was very scary - thick fog all the way combined with the dark of night. I could feel that Ian was very tense on the wheel of our hired car.
