Sunday, last day of our stay in Gozo.
Our first visit was to the Shrine of Our Lady of Pinu. It has become a custom for my family to go pay a visit to this shrine each time we go to Gozo. This shrine is very loved by the Maltese people and it was built on a place where it is said that Mary appeared to a lady who was returning home from her fields.
While we were there this young couple was presenting their new-born baby to the Holy Virgin - another custom we have in Malta which is still followed by many. My children were presented: Jean-Pierre to Our Lady of Pompei and Denise to Our Lady of Good Health.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and FAV’s. They are very much appreciated.
Wonderful capture of this beautiful church! Thank you for sharing the background information for the shrine and the 'Presentation' tradition. So interesting! Fav! :-)
