Chiaroscuro is an artistic technique, developed during the Renaissance period, that uses strong tonal contrasts between light and dark to model three-dimensional forms, often to dramatic effect. Michelango Merisi better known as Caravaggio is one of the main artists who promoted and perfected this technique.
This is my humble attempt to produce a chiaroscuro picture. It was by chance that I saw, reflected on the Grundig TV screen, Christine, MaryGrace and MaryRose in their dressing gowns at the dining table of my sister’s Gozo residence. One last ray of sunshine penetrated the balcony glass door and partly lit the area where they were having a discussion. I immediately got my camera and took a couple of shots of them.
Many thanks for your views, comments, and FAV’s. They are very much appreciated.
Now that is interesting, I didn't know that about Caravaggio, though I knew his name as an artist. I shall go and look for his paintings now! Nice effect.
