Sicily holiday - day 3 (24rd August).
Jean-Pierre and I visited the small cathedral museum of Ortigia. There were two sedan chairs to carry the bishop around the city and they were very beautifully adorned. Seemed to me that they could be locked from the outside so I said to myself that if the bishop was a nuisance or if his homely took too long the sedan bearers could lock him up in there when he went in it to be carried on his rounds (haha).
Thank you so much for your views, comments and fav's on yesterday's picture. Much appreciated.
Great shot of the chatr. We`re teached that the wealth of the church the main reason was for the 16th-century movement for the reform of abuses in the Roman Catholic Church ending in the establishment of the Reformed and Protestant Churches.
