Christine has a special devotion for St Rita of the Impossible and she wanted to visit her in her statue on the day of the saint’s feast at St Augustine’s Parish Church in Valletta. We went on the Sunday closest to the feast (that’s a few weeks ago) with the intention of hearing Sunday mass while we were there. There was a celebration of the First Holy Communion of a few children from the parish. The celebration was taking rather long and when Christine finished her prayers I went to the sagristy to ask about the next mass and was told there won’t be any more on the day. So I took a shot of the church ambience – St Rita’s statue was out of its niche for her feast NS IR is on the right hand side - and we rushed out to go to another church not far off to hear mass there.
