September 17th – 5th day of our Sicily holiday with the family.
Had to post this. Max surprises me once more.
A short stop for some swimming. The Summer of last year I was trying to teach Max to jump into the sea head-first but he always landed on his belly. This year I gave up trying and throughout the Summer months he forgot all about jumping and lowered himself into the sea down a ladder. So it was really exciting to see him go on the boat’s edge and without thinking twice dive into the sea head-first from a height of at least one metre. When I got on deck I made him do it again so I could record it on my camera.
In the other picture he is swimming with his father.
I was one of the first to dive in when our tour boat stopped to give us a chance to swim around 100 metres offshore from a small cove. My son, JP was next and we decided to swim to shore. I wasn’t in the water more than ten seconds when I felt a tinge of pain on my throat and I told JP I was stung by a jellyfish but we continued on our swim. Later we saw other jellyfish floating here and there as we swam back, very carefully, to the boat. I later discovered the marks of the jellyfish beginning around my throat down to my chest but the pain passed quite quickly. At least this was not as vicious as the sting I had at the beginning of Summer when I had to take antibiotics and the marks on my arm are still there today.
