ST PETER’S

From our fifth day and last full day in Rome.
When we went to Piazza San Pietro to watch the Pope give his mid-day blessing we were disappointed not to have entered the Basilica because of all the people gathered there in the queue waiting to go in. So we decided to go the next day, which was Monday, early in the morning to be among the first to go in. As you can see from these pictures we were there before the Basilica opened its doors and the crowds had not started to gather.
