Naples – Day 3
We walked along Via Corso Umberto I to the Stazione Centrale to catch the train/metro to Herculaneum. Half way along the way was this beautiful piazza with buildings like the one in the picture covering the four quarters of the piazza. They all needed a good clean-up so to cover up I did some fresh toning to this picture. Naples looks shabby and even dirty in some places mostly for all the writings on the walls by hooligans (I presume) and late collection of refuse.
Thank you so much for your looks, comments and fav's.
Wonderful architecture. Your cleanup worked well. I can just see a little of the graffiti you mentioned. I just don’t understand the mentality of those who deface such wonderful buildings.
Beautiful ornate building! Sorry to hear about the graffiti. When in DC, there was one statue spray painted when they couldn’t topple it down. You cannot erase the past and should keep these statues…no one is perfect but they are historical figures. Sad.
