Treviso Cathedral, and many other churches in the north of Italy, are somewhat plain compared to the baroque churches we encounter in the south of Italy and in Malta. However I thought it worth showing the high altar of the church. I was looking most of all for a painting of the famous artist Tintoretto in one of the chapels but it was not to be. The entrance to the chapel was barred from view by sheets of wood as the painting was being restored just below the place it had been framed. With nobody in church I stood up on a bench close by to try and see and perhaps take a shot of the painting but I could only see the top of it.
Below the high altar was a gorgeous crypt, though, which was very worth visiting.
And this is the last picture out of around a hundred that I took on a lovely day walking round this lovely city.
