"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.” Robert Louis Stevenson
Found this quote on Facebook this week and have used it twice already! It's really encouraging for anyone who is working with people.......especially small people!
Yesterday I met with former colleagues....afternoon tea with one group and dinner with another group!! Actually talked for 7 hours after the end of the school day!!!!!!!
But it was lovely and it struck me that lots of seeds I had planted in years gone by had grown in memorable ways for them ......and it was a very affirming day! Hope today goes as well............we are planting in our barrels at school just now! More later!!
How much we learn from Mother Nature! Having spent most of my life in community medicine,I find your quotation very uplifting. Now in (semi!) retirement, its surprising how many times I see little shoots from the seeds I planted all those years ago. And they are most welcome blessings. Lovely photo!
It's funny you should be thinking about seeds, sowing seeds and those surprise harvests that happen. That seemed to be the theme of my life last week. Seeds I'd planted at the school where I used to teach took root and blossomed in ways I would never have expected. Lovely quote to go with a very pretty garden!
Thank you for sharing this photo and the quote. I am hoping that I am planting seeds with this summer school class, yet I am not sure. It's a tough group to motivate.
Excellent quote. And glad to hear you had such a special time seeing 'fruit' from the past. The seeds you planted here have turned out to be a colourful display.
