Salad in a Bag by sarah19

Salad in a Bag

On a seed theme....had to share this lovely little enterprise activity!
We cut out and made little paper bags, added some seed strips (newspaper strip with flour and water paste dots spaced out along the strip, on to which were placed two or three seeds!)
Each of the children typed up the growing instructions to pop in the bag, a label was added and we sold them to parents on our Parents' Evening. My fantastic classroom assistant came in to help the children sell the little bags while I was talking to the parents - 20 minutes each!
They did SO well..............and we've planted the extra carrot, radish and lettuce strips in the barrels in the school grounds....along with some flowers. Salad treats when we return after summer hols!!
This is such a creative idea. I think I'd buy one too! :)

Great idea! You've prompted me to go out and plant my lettuce seeds!
