Back 'home' with Mum and Dad for a few days. Last time I created a collage of 4 churches in Tain but mum pointed out I had not remembered this very historic one. http://www.tainmuseum.org.uk/the_church_g.asp?page=89
I don't remember it being used at all when I was young apart from when the Queen Mother came to visit in 1966 when the town celebrated its 900th anniversary since being given Royal Charter. It is now open to the public alongside Tain Museum and is used more regularly. A family friend's daughter was married in it about 3 years ago and today it looked all set out for a celebration/service with chairs and flowers in place!
There's also a much older St Duthus Church which I may visit tomorrow!
This looks like a beautiful church- I know I would spend hours just sitting in it and looking at the windows and architecture. I'm glad they're using it again. The collage is very nice- I wish I could see some of those pictures close up too! Great job! (Also love the light coming through the window in the apse and the view outside through the arched doorway.) Such a beautiful and amazing church!
