When we arrived at Stromness on the ferry there were two of the Tall Ships still in the harbour and 'Shopping Week' was happening.
Lots of shops had fun activities either in the windows or inside...the butcher's shop poster said " How long is a piece of string?" :~
Looks like a lot of fun- even if you're just window shopping! The Tall Ships must be awesome to see. Many years ago, they came into New York Harbor, but my children were so young then I wasn't able to go see them. I love the shop with all the sea birds in it!

thanks all! The window shopping was wonderful and though I didn't buy many things I came away with ideas for knitting and creating. And I did come home with a new scarf ...... which was useful even if it is July! .......some special wool from Auskerry, and a pretty silver necklace from the Ortak Jewelry shop. I'd loved visiting their workshop and the demonstrations added such a lot.
The Tall ships picture was taken through a rain splashed window on the ferry - wasn't able to get close or any amazing views like you Annie! But they are awesome and I vividly remember visiting them in Aberdeen when Susannah was a tiny baby so that is 20 years ago! Take a peep at these links and enjoy! http://www.isleofauskerry.com/http://www.ortak.co.uk

Thanks - the shop on the left was lovely - where I bought my scarf! I enjoy choosing the background colours to highlight photos in collage so seems I am doing an ok job!
