Today I went by train to Inverness and Kyle and his mum were travelling too. At 9 months he was fascinated and fascinating! And his lovely mum was so good at playing with him! At one point he was looking up at the overhead luggage 'shelf' and noticed his reflection - neither mum nor I had ever noticed that you could see yourself if you looked above! - and he laughed and laughed and laughed! And he was so fascinated at the water in the half empty bottle as he turned it upside down/sideways/ etc.
It was just a delight to watch them and she was quite happy that I took a photo - told her about the project of course!
On part of the return journey there was another mum who spent much of the time reading her magazine while her two little girls annoyed one another with nothing constructive at all! At one point the older one was climbing up the central section for luggage. Did my teacher scowl! .....and she got down.
@happypat Thanks Pat! On my second teaching placement when I was training my tutor wrote on my feedback "you have acquired a very piercing glare which will stand you in good stead in years to come!"
How right she was............just use it effectively in small doses though and certainly not to kind and friendly folk like yourself!
She looks like she's loving motherhood. It makes such a big difference. I'm glad you were able to get the shot and tell her about 365- maybe even get a copy of it to her. What a contrast to the return trip. I always wonder how moms can just ignore their children when they're out of hand like that! If my sons did things like that when they were younger I was totally embarrassed. Glad the teacher scowl came in handy! If you did that here, the mother would probably have been irritated with you! Nice shot.
Great picture! It sounds like you had a nice trip on the train both there and back. I laughed when you said you did your teacher scowl. I suppose I have one too...but I never thought about it.
