The last Sunday in September is always Apple Sunday at Pitmedden Gardens when they sell bags of the apples and pears that grow in the gardens. For the last few years the Aberdeen Gaelic Choir have sung some of their songs for a while and other local musicians have their time too. There are teas and coffees and various attractions for families and others alike! And it always seems to be sunny which is a real bonus! So that was how I spent my afternoon and it was lovely! By next week end the gardens will be closed for the season......so that means summer is well and truly over.
It does look a lovely day & what a good idea to sell all the apples like this !!! There has been such a heavy crop too this year !! Lovely collage showing all the activities !
@jmj it's interesting about the quantity of apples.......Susan the head gardener said there weren't so many this year as last year, but on the radio/tv I heard they were having the best crop in 50 years. I suppose it depends on the 'mini-climates' in different areas. @sunnygreenwood yes Anne I do the collages in Picassa - very easy!
