However long or short the visit to Breasclete it's difficult to come away without a stop off at the next village - Callanish - and these awesome structures with their history.
This time the day was damp and grey and the light - or lack of it - makes such a difference. But this time I noticed things I'd not noticed before, textures and landmarks in the distance. We have lovely memories of the standing stones at Callanish - we went there on our honeymoon 41 years ago! Your pictures look full of atmosphere despite the damp weather.
@busylady Wow that is really interesting. We never visited them as children - my cousins didn't think they were any big deal as they had always been there!!! Now there is a lovely visitors centre .....close by but out of sight of the stones themselves. They are a VERY big attraction now!
