The picture tells it all really......with all the wintry weather and visitors and being away I didn't get out today to examine the remains of our Weeping Beech tree......it seems we did the right thing!
Three good things
1. Lots of tidying up
2. Fresh flowers to add to the carnations I was given at Christmas.....they are still going strong!
3. Lovely catch up evening with friends.....holidays over!

I haven't felt sad as there's another beautiful Weeping Beech at the bottom of the garden and now we really see it.
But that scar on the base said so much!
My neighbour gave us a hard time for taking down a laburnum tree that had cracked but it was rotten right down through the root. Other things filled it the space!
