Tidying up a bit and it was nice to get some fresh air in the garden.....Allan put the new poppy bird feeder into the planter barrel beside a tiny one I bought for him years ago. The new one was a gift from a lovely friend and she also included some feed pellets so....... lots of birds around earlier and I'm sure they will find this new addition.
Allan had to pluck a pair of wood pigeons back in December and lots of the feathers blew away and got caught under a little hedge.....today I think the birds were gathering them for nesting time.
Three good things
1. Lovely catch up with Laura in the morning. She had a great holiday in Western Australia.
2. Catching up in the house.
3. Chat with David from Heathrow......just a few hours between flights but lovely to hear him. Now on the way back to Cairo with Jenn and the little guys. I think they'll be glad to get back after very chilly times in Pittsburgh and Washington.
I have one of those Poppy feeders Sallie, a friend gave it me for my birthday. Unfortunately I have never seen a bird on yet. It's right next to the bird table so,I think they prefer landing on that. I should move it away I think.
@happypat I suspect the same may happen here.....the little white one has been ignored when it was over beside all the hanging ones and we're curious to see if the mealworm feed will tempt them at all! Its very pretty anyway! Update later 😁
