It's been a strange kind of Saturday....I had plans to do lots while Allan went to town. And I did, but not the planned ones 😂.
Watched Nigel Slater cook on TV while sorting and pottering. Then had a go at one, saw another I thought Allan might like ....couldn't find it in his collection but will watch again.
Three good things
1. Tidied lots and fixed a few things
2. Kept cosy as it has been a fierce day out.
3. More TV ....Strictly Final. I loved the dancing and the generous attitudes the finalists had....still waiting!!!
I don't know Nigel Slater, but must check him out ... my current challenges are dealing with the Aga and using it as it's supposed to be used. I did soup today, and instead of cooking it entirely on top of the range (as I've been doing) I started it off there, and finished it in the simmering oven. It worked. :-) Nice photo of a good looking selection of cookery books.
Oh you would love Nigel's recipes and the one we had this evening would easily be made in an AGA! Well done for the soup.....I don't have an AGA but one of my best friends had one when she lived down the road from us.

PS I wonder if you had a power cut with the storm this weekend. I heard someone on the radio say Ballater Methlick Ellon and some other towns/villages had lost power! Keep cosy.
