Den dismantling time by sarah19

Den dismantling time

We were busy in the garden today and Allan decided the den built from willow branches had been there long enough.
It was amazing to find some of the vertical posts had put out some roots and shoots already! Willow grows so easily!
Three good things
1. A little bit of shopping before getting the train home.
2. Big clear up of the patio area....was rather full of weeds between the paving slabs and a new table is expected soon.
3. Cauliflower cheese for tea. It was simply quick and easy and just what we needed.
Nice shot

I didn't know the word 'den'. Surprised to find out it has several meanings...

I think we call those β€œarbors”. Cleaning up the yard always makes me feel good.

😊😊 Den is a word with many meanings. In this case it was a little play area where the grandsons could play imaginative games in a shady place. I made the first one last year with the boys cutting willow branches and sticking them in the ground in a circle and tying them with string. It was pretty fragile and got blown over one windy night. This year their dad and his friend did the building and it simply withered but was as secure as the day it went up! I think arbour would be a more beautiful aesthetic construction with climbing Rose's and other perfumed flowers!!😊
So interesting to explore words here.
