dinner for birthday by sarah19

dinner for birthday

Thanks for all the greetings yesterday!
I thought Allan's special chicken parcels were awesome!
The presentation was definitely his best attempt yet and the combination of flavours was perfect - chicken breasts, filled with garlic, ginger, Brie, thinly sliced and blanched broccoli stems, and wrapped in Parma ham before being popped in the oven.
And the sweet potatoes , sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella and broccoli were delicious!
So impressed! Though he says it was a 'bit of a scutter' doing all the blanching etc! Anyway we both enjoyed it and it made my day!
If ever he wants to give up his day job he could do well as a chef!

What a lovely birthday treat, visually as well as tasting good! I've been off work ill today so I caught up with 'Masterchef', perhaps your husband has been watching too?

@jmj @louisefrance
Well he certainly makes a difference to my life.......after all the years he worked away and I did all the cooking for me and 'The B Team' (which I didn't mind at all) it is very nice to share the tea making at the end of a long day!

Yum - the picture and your description both make for a delicious birthday dinner. Good effort, Allan. (Isn't 'scutter' a great word?)

You must have been very proud of him doing that for you. Nearly as nice as my dinner photo on 18 January.
