The folks of Tain are very proud of the fact that it is has been a Royal Burgh for a very long time...since 1066.
In 1966 there were very special celebrations, including the Queen Mother visiting and opening this special garden on the High Street. I remember being in my Brownie uniform as she came by and chatted to some of my friends.
It's a lovely place to sit and had a further refurbishment a few years ago so is now accessible for wheelchairs etc and looks lovely. There were a few folk sitting there this afternoon and a gardener busy too!
As usual the hanging baskets in the town have been prepared beautifully but the sun needs to shine to bring out the best of them!
I think we are all feeling the same around here!
