back indoors

The sun is out but the wind is still very chilly so I'm glad to be able to sit and just enjoy from here!
After some shopping time I spent 3 hours in the garden.....it was grey and damp and far too chilly for early September! But I needed to plant some lavender pots that had been sitting on the patio for too long and then there were too many overgrown places that I knew would be even more of a task if I didn't get them done today.
And just when I was beginning to feel it was too much on my own......Allan appeared with his jacket on and did a great job finishing edges that really needed more muscle than I have!!!
Three good things
1. I found this sweet carnation hiding behind some overgrown fuschia.....perfume is lovely!
2. I noticed lots of new buds on my rose bush that one of the children in my class gave me before the summer.......so nice to look forward to!
3. Cosy house and sunshine.....and lovely gentle curry smells ....Allan is cooking for tea time! I know I'm very grateful that he's happy in the kitchen!!
