Had a super Saturday singing with John Rutter at a beautiful church in Edinburgh. The sound of around 300 voices was lovely. And Mr Rutter seemed very happy with the way we worked on the pieces he'd selected for the day.
Three good things
1. So pleased one of my best friends was free to come too.
2. It didn't pour rain as forecast so was able to walk /bus quite easily.
3. Reminded me I need to improve my sight reading. ...and should play piano more often.
What a lovely church. I've sung with Rutter before but the general consensus was that he was a bit OTT. I did enjoy it though - we did Faure's requiem.
@busylady Thanks Judith. I must say he was very lovely! Full of encouragement and gentle and seemed genuinely happy with each piece. Some were from new collection of pieces he composed earlier this year and this was their first workshop airing. Lovely to have been.
Well thank you both, and I love to sing but am no wonderful singer! But a lovely day anyway!
