Such a special day by sarah19

Such a special day

Our darling older daughter, Laura, married her lovely fiancé, Iain, today at the Old Treasury Building in Melbourne.
They had four special close friends with them, going back a long way to school and university days in Scotland, but now living in Sydney.
Back home we'd got together with brother Jonathan and sister Susannah and enjoyed being in a lovely apartment in Pittenweem, Fife, with fabulous views of the sea and lovely village, getting frequent photos of all the preparations and the event itself thanks to Nicola on the spot! Having spent time with older brother David and family, just a week ago, somehow it felt we were all together!
And such a memorable Skype time sharing laughter and happiness of the day. Technology makes the world so much smaller than in the past.
And then we headed off to explore new places and enjoy the sunshine (in spite of being rather chilly!!!)
Now time for bed! It's been a long but very happy day.
Three good things
1. Family
2. Love
3. Being surrounded by people who care about us wherever we are in the world.

Love this gorgeous wedding photo Sallie. They look very happy & Laura looks beautiful. I know exactly where this is taken....I've only been to Aus once & im talking like a native already!.....I'm so glad you were able to participate as much as possible on the day with all the family. When you go over later in the year hopefully you will be able to share one to one memories of this lovely day.

A lovely wedding photo, and I agree, Skype is invaluable when loved ones are far away. I'm not sure how we would have coped without Skype when our daughter spent a year abroad as part of her degree a few years ago.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments. It's so nice to share special events on 365 !
@happypat has known Laura a while now.....1994.....Help!
That was when her family were all still down the road from beautiful farmhouse we first spent B&B time at and it's lovely to update and keep in touch. Little did we think all these years ago how familiar we'd be with 'down under' and where we'd travel to! We visited The Treasury Building and also had dinner at Rosa's Kitchen where they went after.......next time you must eat there Pat 😁😁
