Lovely place to stop off for a treat. Their fabulous fresh fruit and locally produced ice-cream (produced by Mackies just a few miles away) combine to make very luxurious cones and tubs to eat here or take away. Allan is enjoying the strawberries while we waited a little while for our ice-creams to arrive.
The Barra Castle family are very enterprising! This grew from little booths at the road side selling berries throughout the season and last summer this building had been refurbished and kitted out. It has grown further this year with toilets and more space.
Next development is a wedding /events venue with lots of glass along one side to make the most of the awesome view of Bennachie.
Three good things
1. Alan the tree surgeon came to chip all the wood debris. Fantastic job done and now lots of wood chip to cover weedy places!
2. Allan got membrane from a builder's place in Inverurie and we managed to tidy and cover a large area at the side of the house. Looks great and all the work was finished before the rain poured!
3. Jenn's parents arrived safely from USA. Nice to meet again and after dinner they headed for their hotel......will take a little time to get body clocks adjusted.
