Shutter Speed Experiments by sarahsthreads

Shutter Speed Experiments

An experiment to see what effect changing shutter speed has on the other camera settings while in Tv mode.

I was surprised at how the camera chose to keep the ISO low instead of raising that and stopping down the aperture. This is not a mode I shoot in often, so a good experiment!
cutie! makes sense though, I often see in photography rec's how low ISO gives more clarity and less noise/grain so its understandable that it would first open the shutter as wide as it can go. how nice to have a model you can strap in to his seat haha :)

@dianachaplin I totally agree, and that's how I learned way back in the days of film. Actually, up until two weeks ago the max ISO I'd let my camera choose was 400, but I'm involved in another photography forum where I've got people saying to bump that ISO up and learn to love grain (shudder) so that I can avoid flash at all costs and take indoor photos in the dark never-ending winter. So much conflicting information! :)

@sarahsthreads I was totally on the "avoid flash as much as possible" team until very recently when I got my speedlight and am learning how to use it with good results so far, so now it's all about making the best decision based on the scene and mood you want.
