Master Builders

I am really good at following Lego instructions - to the point where I literally have to sit on my hands when assisting one of the kids with a Lego set, because otherwise I'd just do it all myself because I loooove to build following instructions! But give me a pile of Lego and no instructions and I can build maybe a passable wall...? Or a tower. Probably I can build a tower, too.

However, for Anna's upcoming birthday party the kids are going to build Lego cars to race. Without instructions. So I had the girls raid the pick-a-brick wall at the Lego store to create some prototype cars. And then I stuffed all the wheels, axles, steering wheels, windshields, bases, and all the pieces my girls used in their cars plus many more (times some number that will hopefully exceed the number of kids coming) into two large cups.

Party activity: check.
Favors (the finished cars): check.
Two girls who can build cars that actually look like cars without instructions: check.

The eyes Anna used for headlights are an awesome touch, right?
Great colors!
