Capturing the details in a rare tween-sitting-still-in-good-lighting moment.
Carolyn has been an avid reader since she understood that those little letters could be squished together into words that could create entire new worlds for her to explore. She wasn't yet four when she got lost in her first early chapter book. These days she does most of her reading in her room, but we all recognize that this mild weather is going to be replaced soon with sharp snow and biting wind.
I love the different points of view you used for this collage, and the b&w works beautifully here. I also adore that she's reading - my eldest is that way too. It's awesome. I love your phrasing "since she understood that those little letters could be squished together into words that could create entire new worlds for her to explore"!!!
