Sunshine On My Shoulder

My girls have figured out how to use my 365 and fitbit habits against me.

First they suggested we go for a walk after dinner.

Then, noticing the golden hour sunlight, they talked me into walking to the playground with promises of golden hour playground photos.

Those did turn out to be nice and warm and golden, but in the end this one I snapped as we were walking there turned out to be my favorite.

I still can't figure out how to absolutely on-purpose get these sun rays, so this was a happy accident. Any tips?
you've got some smart girls! I think it has to do with the aperture. I'm not 100% but check into that. I feel like i read you can get a starburst with a smaller aperture, so I guess I figured from that rays would make sense that way too.

I think I'm wrong. I have an image from a couple of nights ago with sun rays and the aperture was 2.8. I think it's a matter of having the sun visible in your lens. Try that

That sun ray looks awesome and adds to the summer feel of the photo!
