This room was labeled the dining room when we bought the house, so despite it's rather smallish size (for a dining room) we obediently filled it with a table and chairs. The only problem is, we have used it to dine in approximately five days out of every year. The remainder of the year it is the place where anything that doesn't have a home goes - leaving us doing mad scrambles to clean it when we want to use it. Henceforth, it will be known as the office. Or maybe the library. That sounds less...work-like.
In the past 24 hours, it's gotten a fresh coat of ceiling paint, all the chair rail and random strange little boxes of trim removed and spackled, and now we're priming the walls.
The girls really, desperately wanted to help, so they're learning how to cut in and roll with the primer - while I follow after smoothing out any big splatters. :)
Not sure Anna was doing so much cutting in here, she just seems to be stirring the paint. That's fun too, I guess!
Funny to see see as we had a similar situation (complete with chair rail and boxes). We first made it a music room and later we did a big remodeling and made it part of the kitchen. Most neighbors have the same problem and it is fun to see that every body comes up with their own, different ideas. Could luck with this project!
@ingrid01 Oh, I'd love a music room! For now I've had to settle for a music "wall", on one end of the living room. :) (Also, I big remodel to make it part of the kitchen was on my wish list, but I haven't won the lottery, so not this time!)
