Eldest had her junior high orientation today. It involved getting a schedule, a locker and combination, a lecture about being kind and responsible and not posting anything mean on the internet, and having school pictures taken (yes, before school even starts.)
I made her show me her locker after, and let me take her picture with it. (She was all dressed up anyway!) Clearly, she's humoring me at this point, but I need to take pictures so I can remember someday.
The day she climbed on that big yellow bus for the first day of kindergarten is etched clearly in my memory, this tiny little girl with massive amounts of hair surrounding her face, in a brown dress with giant red and orange flowers all over it. I've documented and photographed and tried to impress every milestone and memory into my brain, but I can't figure out where all the years in between have gone. If I didn't have my pictures to look back over, I worry that I wouldn't remember any of it.
(Filler, because yesterday was youngest's birthday and today was too busy for the camera.)
She looks great! And what a fancy locker! Here they have cut them in half. So my kids want the top-locker. If you have the bottom one you run the risk getting a book/lunch box or what ever falls out on you head ;)
