.... 60 years ago, a pretty young woman walked down the aisle to meet a handsome young man waiting there for her, and together they said "I do". They had their ups and downs as most marriages do, but they were there for each other until death did them part just two months after their 59th anniversary and a few days before my Dad's birthday. So today was a special day for my mother. She had asked for a carrot cake to share with all the residents at the home, but I arranged a number of visitors for her as well - my sister in law, pictured with her, and some of the friends she had made. It was a total surprise for her to see folk other than just me visiting her and bringing her gifts. I think, and hope, it made her day special for her.
@narayani@islambad Thank you. She was a little tearful at first because Dad wasn't there to share today with her. Nothing in my power can ever change that, or make up for it. But her surprise at the extra visitors was genuine, and I'm sure it cheered her up. She does look happy chatting to Doris.
