But I'm not cold and tired and all alone. I have my two doglets in the back of the car with me, which means it is a longer drive than when I am alone as I have to stop more often along the road to walk them around a bit and give them water. This is day 2 of two full days of driving, but I am back in the Western Cape Province where our local government has kept the roads, even routes through the middle of nowhere, like this one, in good condition. This is the Hantam Karoo, and until I reached the N7 after lunch I saw just a handful of trucks and a few farm bakkies.
Great shot and leading line of this incredibly long road. I am always so surprised that you drive these long stretches on your own in this country, for safety reasons.
@narayani It is a long drive, but now that I have gained confidence in myself I actually quite enjoy the drive most of the time. I don't attempt to do it in one day though, like some younger folk do. I did it once in one day and was wrecked by the time I arrived in Jo'burg.
