Longhill Plantation, New Covert ~ 1 by seanoneill

Longhill Plantation, New Covert ~ 1

One of the places that I took Hubregt @hjv to was my favourite trees on a hillside location. Looks rather good enlarged.

I have a colour version to post in my 2nd album. I think both shots have their merits.

If ever anyone else in in my part of the world and wants a guided tour of NW Leicestershire, they are available free of charge, feel free to make contact. You may even get a meal with the family thrown in!

Thank you to all for the great response to my silhouette shot of Huib. It trended and then PP'ed.

I managed to catch up with some projects yesterday and will attempt more today. Then it is off to Paris tomorrow very early, so I will not be posting again until Sunday evening or Monday, so wish everyone a good weekend.
gorgeous black and white!!

I am glad I saw the colour version first - I feel that one better catches the beauty of the scene: mono can be dramatic and gloomy. And of course many of your B&W are tremendous pieces.

@gooner46 Yes I agree. One has beauty, the other drama. Thank you for your generous comments, very much appreciated.

You are right, Sean. This one has the intrigue and the colour version has the gorgeousness! Enjoy Paris.

Such drama! The lines in the sky are mesmerizing. My eyes follow them back and forth. Great composition withe the low horizon and single tree. FAV

Love the sky - and the simplicity.

A very generous offer Sean & one I would take up if I lived nearer...your expertise on shots like this would be invaluable....enjoy Paris!
Such a beautiful wispy sky & that clump of trees is famous!

The B&W is my favorite of the two this time, but I've been on a B&W kick lately. Pleasant sky tones in this one.

Terrific composition. It's as if it was painted.

Great composition -- this really brings out the textures and form.

I love the lines and tones of the sky and how we see so much of it!

wonderful b&w and such a fabulously dramatic sky!
November 15th, 2013
I like the drama created by the tones in this one. The trees look as if they are huddling together for protection.

I love that sky .... fab shot :)

I'm surprised at how each of the two versions can project a mood on to me Sean, this one a little melancholy, the colour version much more cheerful.
Have a great weekend, :)

I definately prefer the b&w - such great drama. What a wnderfully kind and generous offer and believe me if I'm ever near there I will take you up on that. Same goes for you - if you ever come this far north. Have a great time in Paris !!

Great use of negative space and B&W to create drama.
