Homage To The Martian Landing That Didn't Really Happen

On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre on the Air staged a radio play of H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds that convinced many Americans that the country was being invaded by Martians. The radio play put Grover's Mill, New Jersey on the map.

Grover's Mill is actually part of West Windsor Township, and the township has a plaque commemorating the Martian invasion that didn't really happen in one of our local parks.

So that's something that my township is famous for - not actually having been invaded by Martians.
Haha, probably a good thing too (no invasion)! Nice pic!!
