I went out this morning to shoot a picture that was presumptively a throw-away, to be replaced later. I noticed some bushes in my front yard that were in bloom, and I thought I'd get a nice placeholder photo from that. So I grabbed my macro lens and went outside.
Before I got to the blooming bushes, I noticed this fly. So I figured I'd take a shot or two of it before it flew off. But it didn't - it stuck around. 36 shots later, I finally decided to go inside and see what I got.
This is my favorite shot of the group, but there were several others that would have fit the bill almost as well.
This is why I love shooting macro - I'm amazed by the fact that I can capture this kind of detail that I can't see with the naked eye.
