We just finished our basement renovation - the carpeting was laid today, and we passed all of our inspections. I guess it's not totally done - we will still need a little touch-up paint work. But, after a month and a half of dishevelment, we can finally start putting things back into our basement.
The first thing I wanted to put in the basement was this faux Courvoisier bottle. It was from the wet bar in my grandparents' basement in Hempstead, Long Island. I always had a lot of affection for that bottle, and claimed it from my grandparents' home when the house was put on the market. We never really had a great place to display it, but I could never part with it. Now that we have a wet bar of our own, we can finally display it properly.
Behind it is the first thing my husband bought for the new basement - his Poker Room & Pub sign. It's not really my style, but for the most part this is really his basement. The new poker table, soon to be assembled, was my anniversary present to him this year (and will be a 365 photo subject in the near future).
In the background you can see our new wine racks. I am happy about being able to store our wine in an organized fashion, as opposed to just keeping it in boxes in the back room. Not only is this a space-saver, but it looks much nicer at the same time.
Congrats! I know when my bathroom remodel was going on I was losing my mind. I had men in and out of the house all day and it was dusty and noisy. Enjoy your new basement "Club"! =)
Thanks Michelle :)
I'm just happy that we'll be able to move things back down there and out of our garage!
Thanks Kerri :)
It's funny - I probably took 30 shots, and this was the second one
Thanks Isis :)
(BTW, we're going to be away for a few days, so I may not be able to reply to comments again until the end of next week)
