We were hit by Hurricane Irene yesterday into this morning. This afternoon, my husband and I decided to survey the storm damage. I was out taking pictures of the flooding on Rabbit Hill Road when a couple of youngsters decided to ride their bikes through the water. This was my favorite shot, because the splashing was pretty well defined on both sides of the bike.
After the boys made it to the other side, one exclaimed to his friends, "That was SO cold!"
We're fine, and it looks like a lot of the flooding has receded. But there are downed trees over power lines, some significant flooding at the train station, and something like 1,000 people in our township without electricity. We feel very blessed to have come out of this reasonably unscathed.
Thanks Michelle. We're fine, although neighbors in my development may be without power for several days. Parts of the township are still under water. Hurricanes are rare this far north, and this one was major!
Thanks Kerri :)
