Red Bush In Bloom

I'm in a crabby mood today. When I'm crabby, I reach for my macro lens. If I've learned anything during this project, it's that shooting small lifts my mood - I love finding the details that are too small for my naked eye to catch.

This bush is in front of my house. It's green during the summer, then it turns red in the fall. Then it starts losing its red needles, at which point we start calling it the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree :)

But that will be a couple of months down the line - for now we're just seeing its first few brilliant strokes of red.
