I often go on walks in my neighborhood, and I like taking walks with friends. My neighbor Betty often comments about how unstable this tree looks, and how it's only a matter of time before it falls.
The other day I was visiting Betty and her husband (who is making an incredible recovery from a massive heart attack), and we were laughing over the fact that, while a lot of trees and branches were felled by Hurricane Irene in August, this tree is still standing.
Betty told me that I should make the tree a photo subject one of these days. So today's shot is for Betty!
Hmmm, yea, if the tree is being held up by 2x4, it really is only a matter of time, but I would do the same thing, trees don't get this old over night, and I would hate to see the day I would have to chop it down or remove it.
I hear ya Warren. But when this one falls, it's going to land onto the sidewalk and in the street (which is one of the main routes into the development). Even if nobody gets hurt when it falls, a lot of people will be inconvenienced.
Funny, my husband always makes the same comment about this tree...how is possible that it is still standing with only those two pegs holding it up.....Amazing! Hope Betty's husband will be okay. I didn't know he had a heart attack. I've had the flu all week...I'm dying here!
Yes Isis - it happened the night before the hurricane, and it was really touch and go for a while. But thankfully he seems to be making a great recovery.
I'm sorry to hear about the flu - feel better! Is there anything you need?

Thanks Kerri :)
