A thistle against an earlyish morning sky at the top of Croft Hill. The dogs get an early walk before it gets too hot for them, which means an early ascent of Croft Hill while the morning dew is still on the grass. The alternative option of pushing through the shoulder height grasses around the field edges at the back of our home results in soggy shoes, and grass seeds covering all exposed clothing and fur. German Shepherd Lesia managed to scoop a grass seen into her ear, resulting in her walking around with one huge ear erect, and one drooping. The vet failed to find the offending seed – hopefully it has fallen out, leaving just a bit of inflammation to be treated.
Lovely colours!! I hope your dog is ok. My friends dog got grass seed in his ear yesterday and ended up having to be knocked out so they could remove it!! I hadn't realised what a problem grass can be,
