We feed the birds throughout the summer, as you are supposed to, and the feeding station stays quite busy, although maybe not quite as hectic as during the winter months. Surprising really, what with all those juicy insects and tasty seeds everywhere. Maybe it’s the equivalent of opting for a McDonalds instead of preparing fresh veg from the garden, although hopefully our offerings are a little healthier than a Big Mac. I am under instruction to move the seed tray further up the pole. It is currently used as restaurant seating by pigeons, magpies, and crows, who settle down comfortably and gorge themselves on the adjacent block of fruit flavoured fat. Naturally @shepherdmanswife has a preference for smaller more cute birds, although I always think that magpies have loads more character.
