There are times when Satnav just isn’t enough – it takes a proper Ordnance Survey map to find a tiny single track road that leads up through the hills before descending to a tiny harbour with a beach – Trefor, North Wales. There are more substantial roads that lead to this village, but our route offered much better views. Once we had descended the steep and winding route down into the village, we discovered not only a busy harbour and beach, but also a dilapidated timber pier, with planks that tilted alarmingly towards the sea. By the time that I took this shot @shepherdmanswife had taken almost an hour with filters and tripod to calm the rippling waters breaking onto the beach, and was now trying to do the same with the waves breaking around the pier. The dogs and I were very patient. Oh, all right, we were doing our very best to be patient, but an occasional grumble was inevitable.
