We are both enjoying morning mists, which seen to form in the valley behind our home just as we take the dogs for a walk. When we first stick our noses out of the house, generally to let the dogs out, it is still dark, the sky a myriad of bright stars, with the lights of the nearby village of Huncote twinkling through the darkness. We call in the dogs and all four of us retire back inside behind closed curtains for breakfast. Half an hour later we open the curtains as the sky begins to lighten, and see a blanket of mist in the lowest fields. As we set off along the field track the mist sometime thins before our eyes, but sometimes thickens as the sun rises, especially if we are in the lowest fields bordering the river.
