“Let us go and photograph Barn Owls” announced the photographers. “We know exactly when and where they hunt”. And so we duly trekked over field and moor in early evening sunshine, and then stood for an hour in a cold wind scanning the surrounding countryside. Tia and I found a sheltered spot as lenses appeared around us, peeking over the tops of walls. The owls were, quite sensibly, of the same opinion as Tia and I, and stayed hidden in their own sheltered spot.
