This is what my eye looked like after a couple of hours at the cinema watching 'The Theory of Everything'. It was an excellent film with brilliant acting. About 1/2 way through I felt as if I had an eyelash in my eye and tried to get it out, in the dark of the cinema. It felt irritating for the rest of the film and I couldn't wait to get it out. When the film finished I asked @shepherdman if he could see anything in my eye. His response OMG! what have you done? It looked worse than this. There was a blood filled blister protruding over my bottom lid at the time.
Well, it was 7.30pm when we got home and the first thing I did was ring the doctor. Wonderful system here, ring out of hours doctor and get questioned by a cleric who then decides if you need to be called back by a doctor or nurse. I was told a nurse would phone me back. 3 hours later she rang and decided I should speak to a doctor. It was getting on for 11pm so I told her I was going to bed. She said it would be a couple of hours before the doctor rang as they are so busy. I asked her to cancel but she said she would put me down for a 12 hour call so would get one in the morning. Was just off to bed when the doctor rang. He asked me to go to my computer and google conjunctival haemorrhage which I did and saw lots of photos like this one. YUK! No need to worry. Doesn't affect the sight, just a burst blood vessel. The blood blister/sac had gone down by morning and I was left looking like this.
Allright, that's a nasty infection, but a great close-up! ;-) It will heal eventually....they just take a long time. Once, my cat, Lambchop, reached out to me with her paw and scratched my cornea with her nail. By the end of the day it felt like I had glass shards in my eye.....fine now....even though blind in one eye....just joking! ;-)
Ow wow that is really red and bloody! It looks pretty scary, but luckely it is not dangerous for your eye sight! Hope it gets back to normal white soon!
That doesn't look very pleasant at all. I hope it is not painful! By the sound of things you'd probably have gotten a quicker response from your local vet!
Oh my word, I wouldn't have liked to have seen it the night before if this was improvement, you have been having a time of it recently, take it easy :(
For a second I thought you'd been doing a mask in PS and reached the stage of painting it in red. I'm glad to know this is much less alarming than it looks!
