I never thought I would catch a snowy owl! But sure enough, when dh and I pulled into the turn-around at the end of the road in Deal Island, we saw something white sitting on the pilings. "What is THAT?" We were far enough away that my lovely eyesight could not tell until I put the camera up ... "That is not a snowy owl!" "That is NOT a snowy owl!" "Oh my gosh! That's a freakin' snowy owl!!!!"
No time to grab the tripod. Handheld, being as unobtrusive as a human sneaking up on a wise old owl can be. This was my clearest shot. Blown up large, you can see his iris, and there's the eensiest, teensiest gleam in the corner of his right eye ... eensy, teensy ... blame it on the overcast day, right?
It would be so exciting to see this owl and you would be scared he would fly off at any movement from you! Glad you got this good shot! Are they common there?
